Public Lands are Worth Protecting
Public lands are being threatened.
Since 2017, 2 million National Monument acres have been cut with 223 million more at risk. Proposals from Congress and the Trump Administration would open public lands to new energy development, including drilling, impacting recreation opportunities on the 193,500 miles of trails on public lands.
Public lands are a strong economic driver. 145 million people hike, bike, climb, ride, or otherwise engage in recreation creating 508,740 jobs and $52 billion a year in economic output.
All of this is at risk if public lands are not protected.
